Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer launch in BGT 2026 went to Australian para athlete Paul Nunnari for an awe-inspiring wheelchair performance.
The 2026 season of Britain's Got Talent premiered on February 21 with Simon Cowell pressing the golden buzzer first, awarding it to Australian para athlete Paul Nunnari for his daring wheelchair stunts, including climbing a silk pole and swinging from it by his neck.
Cowell called it one of the most incredible performances he’s ever seen.
No other judges—Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, or KSI—have used their golden buzzers yet.
The golden buzzer, introduced in 2014, grants automatic advancement to the live shows, and each judge has one per series.
The winner will receive £250,000 and a spot at the Royal Variety Performance.
