Miami Heat All-Star guard Norman Powell will miss at least one week due to a Grade 1 right groin strain, the team announced Friday. The injury occurred during Thursday’s loss to the Philadelphia 76ers after a defensive slide against Tyrese Maxey, despite Powell being listed as questionable. He played 10 minutes, scoring three points and grabbing three rebounds before exiting. An MRI confirmed the strain, and the Heat are listing his status as week-to-week, with a minimum of four games missed. Powell, 32, leads the team with a 22.5-point scoring average in his first season with Miami. Forward Nikola Jovic will also miss Saturday’s home game against the Houston Rockets due to a back issue.
