An Indonesian court sentenced nine people, including two former Pertamina executives and the son of fugitive oil tycoon Mohammad Riza Chalid, to prison terms of nine to 15 years in a major corruption case tied to illegal fuel terminal leases and unauthorized crude oil imports, resulting in an estimated $17 billion in state losses.
The verdict, delivered by the Central Jakarta Court on February 26, 2026, is one of the largest anti-corruption cases under President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.
Yoki Firnandi and Riva Siahaan each received nine-year sentences, while Muhamad Kerry Adrianto Riza was sentenced to 15 years, fined, and ordered to pay restitution.
All defendants denied guilt and plan to appeal.
Riza’s father remains at large, wanted by Interpol.
Pertamina stated it respects the court’s decision and maintains a zero-tolerance policy on corruption.
