Malaysia's EPF launches i-Legasi, letting members 55+ transfer retirement savings to children’s accounts without annual limits.
The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) in Malaysia will launch i-Legasi, allowing members aged 55 and above to transfer retirement savings to their children’s EPF accounts without the usual RM100,000 annual top-up limit.
Funds transferred will remain locked until the child reaches withdrawal age and are subject to the same rules as regular EPF contributions.
The initiative aims to boost intergenerational savings and financial security.
The EPF also confirmed a 6.15% dividend for 2025, to be credited by March 1, with distributions based on account balances, not member preferences.
