India confirmed the birth of a fourth cub to cheetah Gamini at Kuno National Park, bringing the country’s total cheetah population to 39, including 28 cubs born in India. The cub’s health was verified through intensive monitoring by field and veterinary teams, marking a key milestone in Project Cheetah, the world’s first intercontinental cheetah translocation initiative launched in 2022 to restore the species after its extinction in India in 1952.
