GAIL approved a $210 million wind project in Maharashtra to boost renewable energy and support its 2035 net-zero goal.
GAIL (India) Ltd has approved a ₹1,736.25 crore investment to build a 178.2 MW wind power project in Maharashtra, with completion expected within 24 months.
The project, approved on February 27, 2026, will expand GAIL’s renewable energy capacity, supporting its goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2035 and increase total renewable power to 3.4 GW.
It will more than double the company’s existing wind power capacity.
GAIL, India’s largest natural gas transmission company, also launched a new R&D center in Haryana to advance clean energy and natural gas technologies.
