Former Nigerian AG Malami and family remanded over $21M money laundering charges; trial set for March 6.

Former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, his wife Asabe Bashir, and son Abdulaziz were remanded in custody by a Federal High Court in Abuja after being re-arraigned on 16 counts of money laundering linked to an alleged ₦8.7 billion scheme. The court, presided over by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, denied prior bail conditions, requiring new applications. Malami and his son remain at Kuje Prison, while Asabe is held at Suleja Prison. The trial is set for March 6, with the court correcting earlier charge amounts from billions to millions. All three pleaded not guilty.
