A 20-year-old man from Bindoon, Western Australia, has been accused of planning a terrorist attack that would target parliament, police headquarters, and places of worship for Muslims. The attack would be driven by white supremacist ideology. A comprehensive manifesto was discovered during a raid on his residence, where police confiscated seven rifles, a ballistic vest, gas masks, lock-picking tools, and encrypted communications. Authorities claim he planned mass casualties using guns and explosives. After intelligence detected extremist online activity involving anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic rhetoric in January, the investigation got underway. He was remanded in custody, has no prior record, and is charged with five offenses, including preparing terrorism and possessing prohibited weapons. His next court date is March 23.
