The Minnesota Twins claimed right-handed pitcher Zak Kent off waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.
Kent, 28, made his MLB debut with the Cleveland Guardians in 2025, posting a 1-0 record and 4.58 ERA in 12 relief appearances.
The Cardinals claimed him on February 16 but designated him for assignment five days later to make room for infielder Ramon Urias.
To add Kent to their 40-man roster, the Twins placed right-hander Pablo Lopez on the 60-day injured list after he underwent Tommy John surgery and is expected to miss the entire 2026 season.
