Sri Lanka has repatriated Janith Madushanka de Silva, a fugitive alleged to be a high-profile drug trafficker and organized crime figure known as "Podi Lassi," from India.
He was arrested in Mumbai in January 2025 on charges of illegal entry and had fled Sri Lanka in 2024 while on bail, violating a travel ban.
After diplomatic coordination involving Interpol, Sri Lankan authorities escorted him back and handed him over to the Galle District Crimes Division for investigation.
The repatriation is part of a broader effort to recover 103 wanted suspects abroad, with Interpol red notices in place.
