RTE sold its stake in GAA streaming service GAAGo for €3M to reinvest in regional studios.
RTE has completed the sale of its 50% stake in GAAGo, the GAA streaming service launched in 2014, receiving €3 million.
The funds will be reinvested in regional studios and production facilities in Cork, Limerick, and Galway to boost local content.
Director-general Kevin Bakhurst praised the joint venture for expanding global access to Gaelic games, especially during pandemic-related restrictions, and reaffirmed RTE’s ongoing partnership with the GAA to support Ireland’s national sports through the GAA+ service.
