A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle in a Bozeman crosswalk; the driver fled, but witnesses and the driver are cooperating with police.
A pedestrian died Thursday morning in Bozeman after being struck by a westbound vehicle in a crosswalk on West Oak Street near Gallatin Regional Park.
Emergency crews responded at 7:41 a.m., providing life-saving care before transporting the victim to Bozeman Health Deaconess Hospital, where they later died.
Authorities say the vehicle failed to stop for the pedestrian, and the driver and witnesses are cooperating with the Bozeman Police Department and Montana Highway Patrol as the investigation continues.
The deceased’s identity will be released by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office/Coroner later.
West Oak Street remains closed in the area.
