Medical Component Specialists opens a new Costa Rica facility with automated tech to make medical parts, aiming for FDA and ISO approval by mid-2026.
Medical Component Specialists has opened a new 16,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Costa Rica’s free trade zone near Orotina, using proprietary automated grinding technology to produce precision medical components.
The site, set to begin operations this summer, will initially run five grinding centers, offering up to 30% cost savings and supporting up to 20,000 units monthly.
It is FDA-registered and aims for ISO 13485 validation by mid-2026.
The expansion reflects Costa Rica’s growing role in global medical device manufacturing, driven by tax incentives, skilled labor, and proximity to the U.S. market.
