Kashmiri nursing students in Kurnool allege religious harassment; JKSA urges Andhra CM to intervene.
The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association has urged Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to intervene after Kashmiri nursing students at a Kurnool college alleged harassment, including denial of Ramzan meals, restrictions on wearing hijabs, verbal abuse, and threats of suspension.
The students, mostly young women under a national scholarship scheme, said they faced pressure to abandon religious practices and were subjected to derogatory remarks, impacting their mental health and studies.
The JKSA called for an impartial inquiry, citing violations of constitutional rights, and emphasized the need to protect students' dignity and ensure a safe, inclusive environment.
