A 21-year-old Kansas City man, Preston R. Reiff, has been charged after allegedly stealing a Greyhound bus on February 24, 2026, and leading police on a chase.
Officers responded to a report of a stolen bus from a Greyhound station, where surveillance and witness accounts showed Reiff driving the vehicle, damaging a wall, gate, and multiple signs, causing about $55,000 in property damage.
Police tracked the bus via GPS, pursued it north on I-29, and stopped it using tire-deflating devices near NW Tiffany Springs Parkway.
Reiff was taken into custody without incident, tested negative for drugs and alcohol, and is held on a $30,000 cash-only bond.
