James Bulger’s mother appeals for info after her son’s grave was vandalized in Liverpool on Feb. 26, 2026.
Denise Fergus, the mother of James Bulger, has made an appeal for information following the February 26, 2026, vandalism of her son's grave at Kirkdale Cemetery in Liverpool. Near the headstone, which has James's name and a picture on it, two stone cherub statues were destroyed, and their heads were discovered broken. Fergus, who has advocated for child safety since her son was killed by two ten-year-olds in 1993, called the act heartbreaking and extremely upsetting. She asked anyone with information to come forward, believing that the damage happened between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. While authorities conduct their investigation, Fergus persists in advocating for the rights of victims and more robust safeguards.
