Florida man found dead on New York trail; no signs of foul play.

Theodore Troth, a 51-year-old Florida man, was found dead on February 24, 2026, along the Crane Pond Trail in New York’s Adirondacks. He had been staying at a rental cabin in Schroon since January and was last seen hiking on February 19. Authorities were notified when he failed to check out as scheduled. A multi-agency search using drones, K-9 units, and snowmobiles located his body near Oxshoe Pond. New York State Police confirmed no signs of foul play, and an autopsy is pending to determine the cause and time of death.
