FBI shifts Nancy Guthrie case command to Phoenix for efficiency, case remains active with thousands of tips.
The FBI is relocating its Nancy Guthrie investigation command post from Tucson to Phoenix in order to improve long-term efficiency, despite the fact that the majority of agents were already based there.
While some FBI units remain in Tucson, much of the investigation will now be handled remotely.
The case is still active, with over 23,600 tips received since her disappearance on February 1, including more than 1,500 after a $1 million reward was offered.
Prosecutors have visited the scene, and authorities intend to return Guthrie's home to her family.
The FBI has not made the move public.
