CDC and FDA to review COVID-19 and flu vaccine data in March 2026 meetings.
The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices will meet March 18–19 to discuss potential COVID-19 vaccine side effects and long COVID, with possible recommendations on these issues.
The meeting follows the committee’s reconstitution in 2025 after all members were dismissed.
Meanwhile, the FDA will convene its vaccines advisory panel March 12 to recommend flu vaccine strains for the 2026–2027 season based on global surveillance data.
Both meetings aim to inform public health guidance, though concerns remain about communication clarity and scientific transparency in recent vaccine updates.
