A 28-year-old sex offender was sentenced to 13 years for assaulting a 13-year-old girl at a nature reserve in 2024.
Dominic Boultwood, 28, of Colchester, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison with an additional eight years on extended licence for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at Bourne Valley Nature Reserve in May 2024.
The court heard he lured the victim to a wooded area, engaged in a sexualized conversation, assaulted her, and warned her not to report the crime.
DNA evidence from her clothing linked him to the assault, despite his claim he had been fishing.
Boultwood, a previously convicted sex offender with a 2015 sentence, was also convicted of making indecent images of children.
He received a lifelong restraining order, indefinite notification requirements, and a renewed Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Authorities praised the victim’s courage and emphasized support services for survivors.
