Philadelphia opens LGBTQ+ visitor center in Gayborhood to boost tourism and showcase queer history.

Philadelphia has opened the Philly Pride Visitor Center in the Gayborhood, becoming one of a few U.S. cities with an LGBTQ+-dedicated tourism hub. Located at 1130 Locust Street, the center offers travel resources, maps, and guides to LGBTQ+-affirming businesses and cultural sites. Operated by Visit Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corp., it features exhibits on local queer history, including contributions from activist Mark Segal, and sells souvenirs from LGBTQ+-owned businesses. Open Monday through Thursday, the center supports tourism ahead of the 2026 250th anniversary and underscores the city’s commitment to inclusion amid national debates over LGBTQ+ rights.
