Petco Love has awarded a $15,000 grant to the Sacramento SPCA to support its low-cost spay and neuter services, helping reduce pet overpopulation in the region.
The Sacramento SPCA’s Zoe K. McCrea Animal Health Center, a high-volume clinic, performed over 21,000 surgeries in 2025, including more than 6,800 for community cats, and has now completed 350,000 surgeries since its founding.
The clinic has earned national recognition, including multiple Snippy Award nominations.
The grant is part of Petco Love’s broader initiative, which has distributed over $12 million in grants to animal welfare organizations across North America and launched Petco Love Lost, a free national lost and found database using photo-matching technology to reunite pets with their families.
The Sacramento SPCA, founded in 1892, remains the region’s only full-service nonprofit animal shelter, relying on community support to deliver essential services.
