A mural honoring Olympic gold medalist figure skater Alysa Liu is being painted in Gardena, Los Angeles, by artist Gustavo Zermeño Jr. Located at 15532 Crenshaw Blvd., the artwork celebrates Liu’s historic victory, which ended a 24-year medal drought for Team USA in women’s figure skating. Zermeño, inspired by Liu’s authenticity and heritage as the daughter of a Chinese immigrant, chose the site for its strong Asian American community ties. The mural captures Liu mid-performance, including her signature playful bite of the gold medal, and aims to inspire youth and future generations. Work began on February 24, 2026, and continues without a set completion date.
