Mexico sends second aid shipment to Cuba amid fuel crisis and U.S. sanctions.
Mexico has sent a second humanitarian aid shipment of 1,193 tons of food and hygiene supplies to Cuba, delivered by two navy vessels from Veracruz, amid worsening fuel shortages and tightened U.S. sanctions.
The aid, including beans, powdered milk, and other essentials, follows an earlier delivery in February and includes contributions from Mexican civil society and the Mexico City government.
Cuba, which produces only 40% of its fuel, faces increasing vulnerability after the U.S.-backed halt of Venezuelan oil shipments.
While regional allies have criticized the U.S. actions, their support has remained limited.
