Glasgow has been named Scotland’s most generous city in 2025 by GoFundMe, based on per capita donations, with strong support for Sir Chris Hoy’s Tour de 4 cycling appeal that raised over £3.1 million.
The city ranked second in the UK, behind Liverpool, and was recognized for widespread community support in campaigns including £184,000 for the family of Rangers fan Christopher Potter, who died in Istanbul, and funds for individuals battling stage four cancer.
A £34,000 campaign also aided the search for Greg Monks, who went missing in Portugal.
GoFundMe CEO Tim Cadogan praised Glasgow’s solidarity, and Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren highlighted the city’s enduring culture of kindness.
