FBI searches linked to LAUSD desegregation lawsuit; no charges yet.

As part of a continuing federal investigation, the FBI carried out search warrants Wednesday at the headquarters of the Los Angeles Unified School District, the residence of Superintendent Alberto Carvalho, and a Florida home connected to him. Citing sealed affidavits, officials have not disclosed the nature or extent of the investigation. Although it has no additional information, the LAUSD said it is cooperating. The searches come after the Justice Department filed a lawsuit claiming that the district's desegregation policy discriminates against white students. The Trump administration and Carvalho, a nationally acclaimed educator, have previously clashed over immigration enforcement near schools. No charges or arrests have been made public.
