Cody Roberts pleads guilty to felony animal cruelty after running over a wolf in Wyoming, facing probation, fines, and bans.
Cody Roberts, 44, of Daniel, Wyoming, has agreed to a plea deal in a felony animal cruelty case stemming from February 2024, when he allegedly ran over a wolf with a snowmobile, brought it into the Green River Bar, and posed with it while injured.
Under the agreement, Roberts will serve 18 months of probation, pay a $1,000 fine, undergo substance abuse treatment, and be banned from hunting, fishing, alcohol, and bars.
The deal avoids a trial and resolves a case that drew national attention and highlighted legal gaps in Wyoming’s animal cruelty laws, particularly regarding wolves.
A judge must still approve the terms.
