The suspension, effective February 25, 2026, applies to all such materials in transit and will remain in place until further notice. Only mining companies with valid titles and approved beneficiation facilities may export, and third-party traders are prohibited. The move aligns with existing laws requiring beneficiation before export, aiming to retain economic benefits and support the country’s clean energy goals. The ban comes ahead of a planned 2027 export restriction on lithium concentrate.
