Vermont sends 32 workers and equipment to Massachusetts for storm recovery after blizzard.
Vermont has sent 32 state transportation workers and snow removal equipment to southeastern Massachusetts to assist with storm recovery following a blizzard that dumped up to two feet of snow and caused widespread power outages.
The deployment, requested by Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey via the Emergency Management Assistance Compact, is the first such aid since 2013.
The team arrived on February 24 and will be working in Milton until at least March 3.
New York is also supplying aid.
The effort emphasizes regional cooperation in dealing with severe winter weather.
