Two Malaysian men, a 40-year-old driver and 53-year-old passenger, were arrested at Singapore’s Tuas Checkpoint on February 22, 2026, after attempting to evade arrival clearance by driving recklessly against traffic and damaging a drop-arm barrier.
The Malaysia-registered vehicle was stopped after a pursuit following a failed initial attempt to bypass checks.
Authorities found 97 grams of heroin, 69 grams of methamphetamine, controlled substance tablets, and drug paraphernalia in the car and on the suspects.
The driver was also without a valid travel document.
Both men were handed over to Singapore’s Central Narcotics Bureau for drug-related investigations, while the driver faces additional charges for immigration and traffic violations.
Investigations are ongoing.
