A Stafford couple, Jack William Davies, 26, and Terrie Marie Wood, 23, were sentenced on February 24, 2026, after being found guilty of causing serious physical harm to their three-month-old daughter, who died in February 2021. The infant, found in cardiac arrest at a Stafford flat, had no natural cause of death; a post-mortem revealed a head injury and multiple rib fractures likely sustained days earlier. Both were convicted in October 2024 and sentenced to two years and 1 year 8 months in prison, respectively. Staffordshire Police said the injuries indicated non-accidental trauma.
