Over 160 learner drivers in Dublin reported serious concerns about driving instructors to the Road Safety Authority (RSA), citing dangerous behaviors like tailgating, phone use during lessons, and inappropriate remarks including racial slurs and sexual comments.
Some students said they were left stranded, taken onto high-speed roads too early, or locked in cars.
Others reported conflicting driving advice, unprofessional conduct such as late arrivals and extended breaks, and lessons not recorded in the official system.
The RSA confirmed 46 behavior-related complaints, 25 on fees, 21 on training quality, 21 on routes, and 31 on unrecorded lessons, but declined further comment.
