OSHA has fined three Colorado businesses a total of $246,609 after six workers died at a dairy farm in Keenesburg on August 20, 2025, from hydrogen sulfide exposure following a manure pipe disconnection in a confined space.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited Prospect Ranch LLC, Fiske Inc.’s subsidiary High Plains Robotics, and HD Builders LLC for serious safety violations, including failure to train workers on hazardous gases, lack of hazard communication programs, and inadequate protection from atmospheric hazards.
All six victims, aged 17 to 50 and Latino, included members of the same extended family.
The Weld County coroner confirmed hydrogen sulfide as the cause of death.
The companies have 15 days to respond to the proposed penalties.
