North Lanarkshire Council has approved a £531.5 million five-year plan starting in 2026/27 to upgrade council housing, with £87.9 million in the first year.
The investment will modernize homes with new kitchens, bathrooms, windows, and heating systems, while over £254 million focuses on energy efficiency through insulation, solar panels, triple-glazed windows, and low-carbon heating.
Projects include regeneration in Coatbridge, Wishaw, Kilsyth, and other areas, demolition of unfit properties, sheltered housing upgrades, and ultrafast broadband rollout.
The goal is to create warmer, safer, and more affordable homes, reduce fuel costs, and strengthen communities.
