A two-month-old baby in Quthbullapur, Telangana, died after his parents, Mamata and Rajendra, were arrested for allegedly suffocating him with cloth, binding his limbs, and throwing him into a burning stove, reportedly due to exhaustion from his prolonged crying.
The parents, migrants from Madhya Pradesh, are in custody as authorities investigate possible mental health issues.
In a separate incident in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills, a motorcycle collision with a tanker killed a 40-year-old home guard and Rapido driver, Mohammad Hussain, and a 20-year-old woman passenger, Akshita, who had booked the ride.
Both died at NIMS Hospital.
Police have filed cases in both incidents, with investigations ongoing.
