Melaka Bersatu appoints Mohd Radzi Md Jidin as new state chief after internal turmoil and leadership shakeup.
Mohd Radzi Md Jidin has been appointed Melaka Bersatu’s new state chief, replacing Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, following the dissolution of five of the party’s six state divisions.
The leadership change, approved by party president Muhyiddin Yassin, comes amid internal disputes that led to resignations and the sacking of several leaders, including former deputy president Hamzah Zainudin.
Radzi, a Putrajaya MP and former education minister, is tasked with rebuilding the party’s structure and developing new leadership ahead of the expected end-of-year state election.
Barisan Nasional stated it will not intervene in Bersatu’s internal affairs.
