Intel scrapped its acquisition of SambaNova but launched a multiyear partnership to co-develop AI inference solutions using SambaNova’s SN50 chip and Intel’s infrastructure.
Intel has ended its acquisition talks with AI startup SambaNova but launched a multiyear collaboration to develop joint AI inference solutions using SambaNova’s SN50 chip and Intel’s Xeon-based infrastructure.
The SN50, designed for agentic AI workloads, offers up to five times faster performance and three times lower cost than competing chips, with a focus on real-time, high-concurrency applications.
SambaNova raised $350 million in Series E funding led by Vista Equity Partners and Cambium Capital, with Intel Capital and SoftBank participating.
The partnership will integrate SambaNova’s reconfigurable data units with Intel’s CPUs, GPUs, and networking to build scalable, cost-effective AI systems, with SoftBank set to deploy the SN50 in Japan’s next-gen data centers.
Intel abandonó su adquisición de SambaNova, pero lanzó una asociación de varios años para desarrollar conjuntamente soluciones de inferencia de IA utilizando el chip SN50 de SambaNova y la infraestructura de Intel.
