Former Nigerian leaders to inaugurate a Christian chapel at Abuja’s National Assembly on March 1, 2026.
Former Nigerian presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan will co-inaugurate a new 750-seat non-denominational Christian chapel at the National Assembly in Abuja on March 1, 2026.
The event, organized by the Christian Legislators Fellowship, will also feature First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, former Head of State Yakubu Gowon, and prominent religious leaders from major Christian groups, including Archbishop Daniel Okoh, Bishop Francis Oke, and Bishop Matthew Kukah.
Initiated in May 2019 under former House Speaker Yakubu Dogara, the chapel aims to foster spiritual unity, moral reflection, and faith-based support among Christian lawmakers and staff.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone for faith and governance within Nigeria’s legislative body.
