A Dublin landlord must fix safety and structural issues at a protected building within nine months after court order.
Dublin landlord Mel Kilraine has been given nine months to complete urgent safety and structural repairs at 9 Belvedere Place, a protected Dublin 1 building with 10 flats, after failing to fully comply with an enforcement notice.
The court, citing cracked brickwork, a leaking roof, and other conservation issues, ordered the work to meet Dublin City Council standards.
Although partial repairs were done, quality concerns remained.
Kilraine, a retired solicitor with health issues, avoided a criminal conviction due to cooperation and no prior offenses, but must pay €5,950 in prosecution costs.
A new engineering firm will complete the work, with the council retaining the right to intervene if deadlines are missed.
The building had previously been occupied by 27 squatters, hindering repairs.
