Coupang Inc. confirmed a November 2025 data breach affecting up to 200,000 Taiwanese user accounts, linked to a former employee’s unauthorized access.
The company said names, email addresses, phone numbers, and delivery addresses were exposed, but credit card details, passwords, and national ID numbers were not compromised.
Coupang will provide NT$1,000 gift vouchers to affected customers starting March 8.
The company recovered all devices used by the former employee, conducted a forensic analysis, and updated its systems, with no evidence of data misuse or sale.
Earlier claims of only 3,300 affected accounts were criticized as misleading.
