Concord Wilshire denies collapse claims, says Grand Lucayan redevelopment is on track with construction starting in two weeks.
Concord Wilshire has denied reports that its $120 million redevelopment of the Grand Lucayan resort in Grand Bahama has collapsed, calling the claims false.
The Miami-based developer, backed by the Prime Minister’s Office and legal counsel, confirmed the project remains on track, with demolition and construction set to begin within two weeks.
The redevelopment, part of an $827 million plan, aims to create over 1,700 jobs and includes two cruise line destination resorts.
The government plans to complete severance payments to the resort’s 279 former employees by February 27.
Despite assurances, skepticism remains among locals due to past unfulfilled promises, and questions persist about payment details and ongoing government expenses.
