native Jenn Gardiner, a Surrey resident and member of Canada’s women’s hockey team, returned home to Vancouver on Feb. 23 after winning silver at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
She scored her first Olympic goal in a Feb. 12 win over Finland and was welcomed at Vancouver International Airport by teammates, luge athletes, members of the Musqueam First Nation, and supporters.
Canada lost the gold medal game to the United States 2-1 in overtime.
All 2026 Olympic women’s hockey players compete in the PWHL, which resumes on Feb. 26, with the Vancouver Goldeneyes set to play the Toronto Sceptres on March 1.
