An 18-year-old driver crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a head-on crash in Poland, Maine, injuring three people.
Three people were injured in a head-on crash on Route 26 in Poland, Maine, Monday morning around 7:50 a.m. An 18-year-old driver, Graeme Kaplan, crossed the centerline in his 2025 Dodge Durango, hitting a 2016 Subaru Outback driven by Rebecca Woodbury, 47.
A 16-year-old passenger in Kaplan’s vehicle was also injured.
All three sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to Central Maine Medical Center.
Emergency crews from multiple agencies responded, and the roadway was closed for over an hour.
The cause remains under investigation, with officials noting the SUV crossed double yellow lines.
