A 2026 Sundance screening of an unfinished Courtney Love documentary sparked controversy, though her team confirmed her intent to complete and promote it.
The Courtney Love documentary screened at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival was an unfinished first edit, not intended for public release, according to her manager Jonathan Daniel.
He said filmmakers were surprised by the festival’s request but approved the screening.
While Love reportedly dislikes the current cut and wants to recut it with new material, Daniel confirmed her commitment to completing and promoting the film.
The documentary features interviews with Love, her Hole bandmates, and musicians Billie Joe Armstrong and Michael Stipe, portraying her life, sobriety, and return to music after over a decade.
