A 44-year-old Sisseton man was arrested Sunday afternoon after driving his 2024 GMC Sierra into Lake Poinsett near Stone Bridge, where the vehicle became partially submerged.
Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office deputies responding around 1:30 p.m. found the man, who exhibited signs of intoxication and had a blood alcohol concentration of .238—nearly three times the legal limit.
He was charged with felony DUI and parole violation for a prior DUI conviction, taken into custody, and booked into Brookings County Detention Center.
The vehicle was recovered, and the incident remains under investigation.
