A Boise woman was arrested for stealing an ambulance, crashing it into a federal building, and trying to set it on fire.
In connection with the theft and collision of a Canyon County Paramedics ambulance into the Portico North building in Meridian, Idaho, which houses U.S. Department of Homeland Security offices, Sarah Elizabeth George, 43, of Boise, was taken into custody on February 23, 2026.
According to the authorities, she stole the ambulance on February 18, drove it into the building, and tried to use an accelerant to set it on fire before running away as help arrived.
There were no reported injuries.
George could spend five to twenty years in prison if he is found guilty of attempting to destroy federal property by fire.
Numerous agencies were involved in the investigation, which involved gathering a lot of evidence over a 16-square-mile area.
