Wollongong resident Sally Foord, a former Western Australian, has joined the new season of Australian Survivor: Redemption as a tribute to her late brother Jackson, who died by suicide. Inspired by a casual suggestion from her partner, she applied last minute, pausing her master’s degree to submit a video application. Her tribe, the Barren, lost the first challenge but won immunity in the second, securing her place in the game. Foord described the physical challenges as overwhelming and adrenaline-fueled, likening them to an adult obstacle course. The season airs on Channel Ten.
