Robert Downey Jr. has been named godparent of the Disney Adventure, the newest and largest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, set to debut in Singapore with a maiden voyage on March 10, 2026. The announcement, made on February 23, honors his iconic role as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which helped launch the highest-grossing film franchise in history. As godparent, Downey will perform the christening ceremony, a traditional maritime ritual, ahead of the ship’s launch. The Disney Adventure features Marvel-themed attractions including the Ironcycle Test Run roller coaster, the "Avengers Assemble!" live show, and the Marvel WEB Workshop, reflecting its immersive storytelling focus. The ship, homeported in Singapore, marks Disney Cruise Line’s first Asian base and will sail across Asia and beyond, with additional ships planned through 2031.
