Porter Garner, CEO of Texas A&M’s Association of Former Students, is retiring after 45 years, succeeded by Nicholas K. Taunton in 2027.
Porter Garner, CEO of Texas A&M’s Association of Former Students, announced his retirement effective December 31, 2026, after 45 years of service, including 27 years as chief executive.
He led major initiatives that raised over $572 million for scholarships and traditions, distributed more than 310,000 Aggie Rings, and expanded the organization’s global reach.
Garner will be succeeded by Nicholas K. Taunton, the current Executive Vice President and COO, who will take over as CEO on January 1, 2027.
