Over 30 new Karnataka Congress MLAs are demanding inclusion in the cabinet reshuffle, urging leadership to balance youth and experience.
Over 30 first-time Karnataka Congress MLAs, including 38 elected in 2023, have formally requested the party’s national leadership to include at least five of them in the upcoming cabinet reshuffle.
The group, led by figures like Mantar Gowda and Ravikumar Gowda Ganiga, urged leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to balance youth with experience, noting that none of the new MLAs were initially appointed to the 34-member cabinet.
They cited precedents in other states and emphasized public demand for fresh leadership.
The request comes amid internal party tensions, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar reportedly at odds over the reshuffle.
The high command has not yet responded.
